Hyltorna
farm is a farm in the
village Kungsater in the western part of Sweden.
The farm was built in the nineteenth-century
and has been worked by the family since the beginning of
the twentieth century.Todays owners are the third generation
and they work the farm since 1988. The family has lived
in Kungsater since 1832 when the ancestor Casper Borjesson
and family came here from Fagered. In old documents, we
have found one part of the family living in Kungsäter
in 1670.
In 1920 a family with ten children
lived on the farm with one kow, sheep, goats and chicken
as domestic animals.Today the farm
can provide for twenty Swedish landrace sheep and a bunch
of chicken. Vegetables are grown both outside and inside
the greenhouses. Beside the animals och cultures there is
a weaving studio in the farm, managed by Birgith.
The countryside whith pastures
where the sheep graze are surrounded by oak and ash trees
and a lot of juniper and pine trees. And you will find many
interesting formations, such as a giant throw, en crevice,
allways filld with water, old cairns and pathways reminding
of work in the old days.
